Apparently learning to sing can help stop you snoring, because it strengthens the throat muscles.
Maybe I'll have to pack hubby off to lessons. But when you weigh up the noise of snoring against the noise of hubby belting out his new exercises on a daily basis, which would cause the greater distress? I can cope with the violin, but...

I'm all for singing lessons as a fix for snoring (& my own dear hubby could really use it, that's for sure). But do I detect a subtle insult to singers here???
Hopefully if he took lessons, he would focus on producing really good & beautiful sound!
Oh come on! isn't it taking one's musical sensibility a little far to suggest there's an insult to professionals in the idea that the sounds initially produced by a violinist attempting to sing for the very first time might be less than perfect? Excuse the long sentence....
