1 May

The first of May, hooray, hooray,
It should have been a holiday
But Mrs Thatcher took it away,
So while in Europe people play
Here in silly old UK
We have to go to work today
Except for those who cause affray.

So here are some new colours, spurred on by lilac trees, late apple blossom and a few early roses that have been fooled by weeks of sunshine into thinking it's June.

You should be working hard, Jessica, because I for one want to read your new novel, preferably in August!

Though Hodder's bound it very nicely
The hardback's just a little pricey,
So paperback I recommend,
Out very soon beyond June's end!
'Alicia's Gift' hence done and dusted,
Creative forces must be mustered
To press on with 'Hungarian Dances'
Besides a play that will be France's.
So holidays I do not take;
I slog, though ££s don't often make.
But my reward is musical joy
Because tonight - ahoy, ahoy! -
Korngold sets the Southbank alight,
Yes, he for whom we have to fight
Has won, and his Sinfonietta shall
Blaze out in glorious full sail!

Congratulations on 'Alicia's Gift'. I couldn't wait for the paperback and have just finished the hardback copy.
Really enjoyed it, (again!).
Not to give anything away, but is there likely to be a sequel, or even trilogy?
Here's hoping...

I fear of rhymes I'm running out!
But the next book I should still tout;
A sequel not, but similar type
Yet larger far, though I mustn't hype:
A passionate theme, a violiny plot,
Hungarian history I had to swot!
As for the future, who can say?
Alicia mayn't have gone away.

Earlier I didn't rhyme,
Because I was so short of time,
But now I'm back and need to look,
Upon the shelves for more of your books,
A 'passionate theme' and 'violiny plot',
It seems that I must find a slot,
To put aside some time to read,
But what of the children I need to feed?
Whilst husband is away at sea,
Performing on the Symphony,
There are dogs to walk & business to run,
It really is not that much fun,
'Hungarian history', that was hard to find,
Some rhyming word within my mind,
But now it's time to turn my thoughts,
Back to the concert tours for which I've fought.
