This isn't what Zimerman is playing tomorrow, Tuesday, when he's programmed the Bach Second Partita, Beethoven Op.111, Brahms Op.119 and Szymanowski Variations at the Royal Festival Hall. The extract below was filmed a while ago (we were all younger once), but same person, same pianist, same wonder. Thanks so much for this, Jessica. I've always loved the way Zimerman plays the Barcarolle- a great match of musician and music. I'm already looking forward to hearing him in L.A. in April 2009! I used to attend his concerts faithfully when I lived in London, but it's rare to see him on the West Coast.
