If you have a look at the sidebar, you'll see a poll. I know what I want to write about - but what do you want to read about here, and how? Please vote for what you think is the best (or the least worst) of these ideas over the next two weeks and there will be some changes later in the month. Thanks!

Obviously, this is just me, but I am not that interested in reading books blogs. They just make me feel guilty about the books I'm not reading.
And if I was, I am not sure that I would necessarily turn to my favourite music bloggers for book blogging, any more than I'd turn to my political blogs for, say, football.
Which is not to say that the subjects are mutually exclusive.

It is neck and neck between options one and three as I write this. I voted for the first. This is not about what we would like to see on any blog, but rather on YOUR blog, which is a different thing. Your more devoted readers have come to know your various interests, and there have been occasions when posts have taken us into areas at least somewhat removed from music, including issues and matters literary, political, and social. When first I commented on these, I was aware that we were straying from the central concern of the blog and at times into areas controversial and perhaps invidious, and I was unsure what this might lead to re the tenor and ambience of the your blog. It got a little testy on occasion, but why not, and it worked out well. I should myself be very happy to have much more from you on arts other than music, on matters tangential to them, and, indeed, on significant issues not necessarily related to the arts at all, as on occasion you have done here. I'd prefer to see all this on a separate blog, but I must say that the third option would probably work just as well. Either way, we get more Jessica, and what could be nicer than that?
Aw shuks, Philip! <3 <3
Thanks for the feedback, guys - keep up the good work, the more the merrier!
Having trouble deciding; either 1 or 3 but whatever you decide, please don't forget to keep us updated on the comings and goings of Solti. How is he these days?
Solti is very lazy! Especially about blogging. But he is well, and purring a lot.
Wednesday morning and voting is still neck & neck...
A tricky one and I haven't yet voted!
Maybe time will be the deciding factor. To maintain 2 seperate blogs of such a high quality as yours, could be tricky, certainly along with all your other work.
Combining blogs may mean you can just address the area most important on that particular day.
Plus by just extending the JDCMB title you will still be picked up by the search engines...
As I currently work on 3 sites I know just how much time is required...
Whatever you decide I'm sure we shall all follow!
Sorry for the excessive use of the word 'time' but, well, I'm busy.
