Jessica, your article in the Independent is not only sensational, it offers a fascinating insight into a sensitive, tormented side of Mendelssohn many of us tend to overlook. Your quotes from the cellist Isserlis are quite sinister.
You could probably write volumes on the close relationship of untold romantic agonies of artists and musicians on their creative work.
