One thing you won't hear in the UK this week

Vladimir Sofronitsky plays Scriabin's Etude in C sharp minor Op.42 No.5, recorded live in Moscow in 1960. You won't hear playing like this anywhere.

Sofronitsky is amazing of course, but have you forgotten that Martha Argerich is putting in an appearance at the RFH tomorrow night?!

Argerich is playing here tomorrow?! I hadn't forgotten...I didn't even know.

This is terrible as it means I have to go to a concert every damn night this week. I had also omitted to mention the LPO's gig on Friday that involves Rachmaninov's Third Symphony. But I won't be able to get in to hear Argerich at this sort of notice, so I guess that gives me tomorrow off.
