Happy birthday, JSB

It's Bach's birthday. Have a listen to how Brahms and Schumann's close friend Jozsef Joachim played his music. This rendering of the G minor's first movement was recorded 104 years ago. (Fascinating line-up of comments on Youtube here.)

I have no words after listening Joachim's version. Many thanks for this marvellous glimpse into the spirit of two great violinists (Joachim and Bach himself).

I found a random blog comment that asked when the last time was that Good Friday and JSB's birthday coincided, on March 21. No idea how to figure it out on the internet, though, short of slogging through past calendars one at a time. Anyone have a more efficient system?

Apparently the last time Easter was on March 23rd was 1913, so that would probably be the last time that Good Friday and JSB's birthday coincided.
